Temple Bar area is on south of river Liffey, between the Bank of Ireland and Christ Church Cathedral, a very lively area filled with pubs, bars, restaurants, hotels, street performers, etc. Though some locals complain that the area is “too touristy”, it’s a must see place when you visit Dublin.
In order to bring locals back, the Temple Bar area has been re-claim it as the “Art-zone”, and bringing theaters, art galleries, cultural centers, etc. to the area.
Many pubs and restaurants open on Sundays and holidays and till later hours compared to other areas in Dublin.
