Dublin’s beautiful Georgian houses can be still seen in Merrion Square and Fitzwilliam Square area. Most of the Georgian houses have nice iron balconies and colorful Georgian doors.
There are many stories of why the doors are painted in different colors, but my favorite one goes like this:
“One night, a husband came home drunk and woke up next to a neighbor’s wife in the morning. All the wives on the street had a meeting, and decided to paint the door in different colors so that their husband would remember to come back to the right house.”
On sunny day, take a walk around the squares, and enjoy the view of colorful doors and unique characters of Georgian houses. I have lots of photos of the doors.
