The Palace Bar is located on Fleet street near the corner of Westmoreland street in Dublin’s Temple Bar area. Built in 1923, the Palace Bar is one of the oldest pubs and bars in Dublin. It hasn’t changed the looks and atmosphere since the time when the writers such as Flann O’Brien and Harry Kernoff enjoyed the pints here.
The Palace Bar is one of my favorite pubs in Dublin. You don’t see those old signs and jags displayed here. Instead, you’ll see beautiful stained glasses on the windows and a back room with high ceiling. Being still popular among locals is a good sign, too. The night before big matches on the weekends, the place is filled with fans from all over Ireland, and you’ll have a great time drinking and talking with them. The Musical Pub Crawl also visits the Palace Bar a few days a week.
