Crown Bar or Crown Liquor Saloon is in just about every guide book of Northern Ireland as one of the “must-see” places in Belfast. And those guide books are right. The building is beautifully decorated in tiles and granite stones, this one of the oldest pubs in town can be a nice place to visit even if you are not an alcohol drinker. Since it’s on every guide book, you may think it’s filled with tourists, but the place is still very popular among locals, too.
Crown Bar is located on Great Victoria Street very close to the Grand Opera House and Europe Hotel. As you walk into the bar, you’ll see a large counter on left and paneled and closed rooms on right. The bar further extend back to more sitting area. Inside the bar is decorated in Victorian style with wood panels, old painted glasses, and lamps.
The Crown Liquor Saloon has a bar menu and a dining menu, which are between GBP1.00 to 7.50 or so. While they serve really good Guinness on tap and Irish Whiskey, you can also order other beers and whiskeys, wines, sodas, tea and coffee.
